Movin on up to the east side

So moves calls have come and went. We didn't get the news until 11 pm last night. Usually if you are doing anything special President will call you beforehand and he didn't so we thought we were just staying, but our zone was on conference while the zone leaders read out what everyone was doing. Sister Jones and Sister Brady are staying and I'm moving.....to North London!!! It is the only sisters area in the city of London that isn't for visitors center sisters, so my luck is pretty dang good. I'm so excited! My companion will be a Russian sister named Sister Ovcharenko that was in the MTC with me. I'm really excited, but very sad to be leaving Bedford. I have come to love the people here so much. I am already excited to come back and visit one day. I know the Lord needs me most in North London right now, so "I will go and do the things which the Lord has commanded".

I was going to send some great pictures from this week, but the computers in the Bedford library are dumb and won't let me. Hopefully North London has better computers that are free to use :) Love you all!

This is my zone this transfer. Can we all just appreciate that Elder Leavitt (from Las Vegas) in the back left is a weirdo? (Of course he is, he's a Leavitt)

12 August 2013

Sorry y'all, today is going to be another lame blog post when I don't write much because I don't know what to write.

It's been another week of doing what I'm here to do: teach the gospel. Have people been very receptive or cooperative? Not much this week, but that's ok because everyone has their down weeks. No biggy. It will get better.

We had a mission conference today when Elder Dave Evans of the Missionary Executive Committee came and talked to us about Preach My Gospel. It was great. Really helped get me more motivated.

So next week is moves. Pray for me that I stay in Bedford! Let's be real, I've probably been here too long. I think I'm getting moved. We will see what happens. My next email will be next Tuesday. Have a blessed week!

A Very Cultural Week!

We had a really fun week!

On Tuesday, we went to the home of a Venezuelan sister in the ward and she made us arapas, traditional Venezuelan food. It was yummy. I have never had Venezuelan food, but I would recommend it.

On Thursday we went to the birthday party of our investigator from Nigeria, Gabriel. It was way fun! He taught me how to dance like an African, which you can imagine I was extremely good at, and they fed us lots of Nigerian food. We were the first ones there so they treated us like guests of honor.

One of our new investigators, Inesa, shared something really cool with us in our first lesson. She is a Lithuanian woman that Sister Webster and I street contacted my first transfer, but we have just barely been able to make contact with her. When we asked what made her want to meet with us, she looked at me and said that she walked away from our first meeting almost 3 months ago with a strong impression that she has met me before, but she knows we have never met before. Pre-earth life friend? I dunno, but it made me feel really cool!

On Saturday we went to the park and played ultimate Frisbee with James and his family, a less active named Allen, and the elders. It was way fun! It's nice to spend time with the people we teach in a more relaxed setting where the goal is just to help them have fun.

The rest of this week has been pretty fun, we are just keeping busy. And dry, it barely rains. So that is really nice. Summer has lasted a long time. I think everyone is ready for it to cool down.

New rule: if you email me, you have to include your mailing address in the email in case I don't have time to reply over email. Ok thanks!

Have a great week everyone!
